How to Create a New Role on the Merchant Portal

In this article, we provide a simple guide to help you create new roles and assign appropriate permissions to your team members. This ensures that each user has access only to the features necessary for their responsibilities, supporting both security and operational efficiency on the Merchant Portal.

Before you can add a new role, you must have Super Admin role privileges as only users with this access level can create and manage roles on the Merchant Portal. It is also important to understand the permissions required for the role before proceeding with creation. 

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to create a new role on the Merchant Portal.

Step 1: Log in to your Merchant Portal.

a. Open your web browser and go to the dashboard login page - Login to your Hydrogen Account (hydrogenpay.com)

b. Enter your registered email address and password to login to your account.

Step 2: Go to Profile & Settings, navigate to the User Management section, and click the Roles pane to view the default roles. To create a new role, click the 'Add New Role' button.

Step 3: Enter a Role Title (e.g. POS Representative, Front Desk e.tc). 

a. Provide a Role Description that clearly explains the purpose of the role in the description field.

b. Assign permissions by checking the boxes for the permissions required for the role.

c. Press the highlighted SAVE button at the bottom of the page.

Success! New Role has been created.
