How to Set up MFA on your Merchant Portal - Authenticator app

MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) is an added layer of security that requires users to complete an extra verification step before accessing the Merchant Portal.

By enabling MFA, unauthorized access becomes more difficult. Even if someone has your password, they will not be able to log in or perform sensitive actions without completing additional verification like the One-Time Password (OTP).

MFA on Hydrogen Merchant Portal can be set up in two ways:

1. Via OTP (One-Time Password)
2. Via an Authenticator App

Step 1: Log In to your Account

a. Open your web browser and go to the dashboard login page - Login to your Hydrogen Account (hydrogenpay.com)

b. Enter your registered email address and password to login to your account.

Step 2: Go to 'Profile & Settings' on the menu bar and click on 'Password & Security'

Step 3: Navigate to the right section of the page and toggle on the 'Authenticator app’ button to enable authentication.

Step 4: Download your preferred Authenticator App (Google, Authy or Microsoft) on your Playstore and scan the QR code that pops up on your screen after toggling on the 'Authenticator app' button on the Merchant Portal.

Step 5: After scanning the QR code, a six-digit code will be displayed in your authenticator app. Enter the code in the field provided and click the ‘Configure’ button.

Success! Your authenticator app has been set up. Copy and keep your recovery codes displayed in a safe and secure place in case you lose access to your device.

You can now log in to the Merchant Portal and experience the enhanced account security.
